If you use the “Capture” tool in the Xbox Game Bar (which opens when you press Windows+G), then Windows will save your screenshot to C:\Users\\Videos\Captures, where “” is the name of the user account you used to capture the shot. If not, you could also check your Documents or Pictures folders under “ This PC” in File Explorer. To see where that is, take another screenshot, save it, and see where it wants to save the new file. I hope this helps.While that doesn’t help if you don’t know where you saved your last screenshot, they will remember the last place you saved a file. When Windows 10 was not offering it, I found a download, installed it on my Win 10 ,machines and saved a copy to an external hdd. I tried it out, that evening and have not looked back.

I became aware of Snipping Tool, from a Moderator helping a poster with troubleshooting problem. We’ve got to be smarter than the technology. As with saving Word documents, and anything else to storage, I ALWAYS do it as a SAVE AS, That assures me that the Saved item goes to the folder I choose and not to a Default folder which can be difficult to find. It easily “Captures” jpgs, gifs and even makes great jpgs of text documents. It will “Capture”/ Freeze Frame all videos and movies which comes in handy for home movie projects. Unlike the MS”Prnt Scrn”, It “Captures” any and everything that comes across my pc and laptop monitors in Windows. As a 73 year old retired vet, I have used Snipping Tool for five years.
